Applications are invited for the following posts at Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi

1. Stenographer : 01 Post
Pay Scale : Pay Band-1. Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/-
Age : 18-27 years
Qualification :Matriculation and Knowledge of Computer

2. Lower Division Clerk : 01 Post
Pay Scale : Pay Band-1. Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1900/-
Age : 18-27 years
Qualification : (i)Matriculation or its equivalent (ii)Proficiency at a minimum speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi Typing on Computers. (35 w.p.m. correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word) . Desirable: (i) 12th Class or equivalent from a recognized board or university. (ii) Proficiency in Computer operations.

3. Technical Assistant T-3 (Field/Farm)
Pay Scale : Pay Band-1. Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2800/-
Age : 18-30 years
Qualification :Bachelor degree in Agriculture from a recognised University

General Instructions :
1. Prescribed application form can be downloaded from our website http://www.iivr.org.in.
2. Name of the post applied for should invariably be mentioned on the top of envelope, to be addressed to the Director, Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi – 221 305.
3. Copies of certificates (attested by a Gazetted Officer) in proof of age, educational qualification, typewriting, experience, caste status (in the case of SC certificate issued by the Competent Authority) should be sent alongwith the application.
4. Persons already employed should route their application through proper channel.
5. Application, complete in all respect should reach the Director, Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi – 221 305, within 30 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in Employment News paper.
6. Director, IIVR, Varanasi reserves the right to shortlist the candidates for test/interview, after due screening of applications.
7. Incomplete/unsigned applications or applications received after the last date will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained, IIVR will not be responsible for any postal delay.
8. Shortlisted candidates will be called for written test/Interview.
9. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/test/interview/appointment.
10. Posting will be at Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi or at the Regional/ Research Centres at present. However, he/she will be liable to serve in ICAR Institute any where in India.
11. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.
12. All the dispute/ litigation, if any in this regard will be subject to Varanasi Jurisdiction only.

About the organization:
Vegetable research  was given impetus through establishment of AICRP on vegetable crops during 1971 at IARI,  New Delhi with the responsibilities of coordinating and monitoring of vegetable research programmes of the country.  To give a fillip to the research and to meet the challenges of nutritional security, the status of AICRP on vegetable  crops was elevated to the level of Project Directorate of Vegetable Research (PDVR) during 1986 with its headquarter  at IARI, New Delhi. During 1992, the head quarter was shifted at Varanasi from IARI New Delhi. Considering the vital role of vegetables in nutritional security, emerging trends of national/international demand  and higher economic return, PDVR was further upgraded to the level of national institute under ICAR system during  1999 and named “Indian Institute of Vegetable Research”.
